Are there any artists viewing this who sell their art as prints?

mica h asked:

I am an artist (but make my living as a landscape designer) who wants to not starve. I have sold some of my work, and had tons of people who want to buy my work. But, each painting takes me a ridiculous amount of time as I am a perfectionist when I paint, and I get very attached to each piece.I would rather get a limited number of reproductions made (lithographs, seriographs,) and sell them.It is very expensive to have art reproduced. But the big art publishers obviously pay for the printing of the artists whom they represent (bruce mcgraw, etc) How do you get them to pick you up? Are there agents for artists just like other creative folks? If anyone knows I would love to hear from you .

Oh Mica, you are present in just the right time!

There are now art sites out there that will help you make a decent residual income from prints, without having to part with the real piece. Now that you say that you art is well-received, you can be all the more delighted!

Here is a start-up that can help you achieve exactly what you want: ImageKind. You can upload high-resolution images on their site, create your gallery, and start selling! You get to set your own price, etc.

They’ll frame and ship your art, and you collect the money. Simple!

Oops - they only do fine art printing, I believe! But that’s a start.

Check the site out for details.

    Very good luck to you!
