Try starting with eBay.
What is your credentials ?
Who are you ?
What makes your art so great ? when there are millions of people who know to use the brush well ?
Dont you know that a stupid piece of color (I would not even call that art) commands value in millions whereas a splendid work done by streetside artist would not even sell.
The difference is branding.
If you have more than 15 pieces of painting, try approaching big exhibitors (get there address through internet searches or local business directory search.) and send them a copy. Write mails to them or visit them in person and make an exhibition in some major event. Call the press, give them an interview. Think of how to hit the headlines quite often relating to your work (Start a free class for kids during summer and advertise it well) Let the media write about it.
Put up a website designed by a professional. Now link this site to major sites relating to art. The bigger(based on traffic) that refer your site the higher your website ranking. Talk to people in your industry and join a professional association.
You could do some paintings for charity work….let the press write. In short when some one searches your name in Google let it find 10,000 websites that refer your name and the press ( i mean everything newspapers, magazines all, local tv channels) talk about everything you do or make them do it.
Well, this is just the start. Now you have a basic credential. From here try talking internet giants like ebay (well for sure they wont agree….it all depends on your past history or reputation as an artist.
The pathway to success is long and winding and but he who endures to make it will stand tall.
