making art prints with a color hp printer?

I am on a budget and would like to hang art work on the wall, but can’t really afford to pay $40 a print with the frame and everything, especially since I want to hang several pieces. Is it a good idea to try to print them out with my color hp printer or is that just lame? thanks

if it’s just for you, why not? I don’t bother to frame art, I think framing art can be lame and pretentious.
Only problem is that the ink of a lot of inkjet printers fades fairly quickly. Particularly if your room is bright. You may want to spray them with a coat of UV-protectant.
What’s even less lame is make your own drawings. I particularly like brown packing paper - it’s cheap and you can work on both highlights and shadows with chalk and charcoal respectively.
