Is there a way that people can sell their photography as things like poster art? etc?

No - Approaching a poster company is counterproductive.
Poster companies are all looking for MY photography. Ha!
Poster companies are all going down the road of flim.

they pay for images there….and you get royalties everytime someone uses your image.
You can try companies which sell stock photos like , or you can create a website, hosted by a company which handles all the money, and printing for you, like (it’s $150.00 a year). Or you can join a group like it’s free, and some folks do sell quite a few photos and other items.
